Gary Silverstein started building homes as a carpenter in the Summer of 1982 after graduating from Guilford College with a Bachelors degree.

He received his General Contarctor's license in 1988 and built his first Energy Star home in 1999.

Today, Gary is one of the only builders in the Greensboro area that is committeed to 100% Energy Star building and is on the Executive Committee of the Greensboro Builders Associations's Green Building Council.

Gary started the Summerwoods subdivision in 1998 and completed the last home there in 2007. Currently, almost all of the original homeowners are still living there.

Sandford's Creek is the first Energy Star neighborhood in Guilford County.
